for frequencies had been forwarded to MED.
National
System Project Report: Mike ZL1BNB
reported. He is testing the audio board. Jim will have
the controller by the end of the week.
John, ZL2JEL had contacted Ernie James at Powerco who
apologised that the pole was still not erected at Landguard. It should be
up within the week.
General Business:
1. John
ZL2JEL asked for volunteers to man the Motorcycle Club’s
forthcoming junior Moto X event. Eight are required on
both the Saturday (0900 - 1630) and the Sunday (0815 -
1600). There was to be a meeting on Wednesday at 1730 at
the MC Club of all who can help.
2.
Bob, ZL2AAQ wanted some clarification on the way our Nat
System link would be configured. Mike ZL1BNB replied that
we will share with Belmont and Kapiti will go. Mike has e-mailed
Doug Ingham advising him that we don’t want to
reduce power and are using directional antennas unlike
omnis used by others so this negated the need for a lower
power setting.
3.
David ZL2MA reported that TV1 was
getting into the Nat Sys over the last weekend. He then
asked if the Nat Sys frequencies were being changed or
inverted and also if we would have to change our
frquencies. Mike replied that they were to be inverted
and our frequencies would change if the plan went ahead.
4. Bob ZL2AAJ
commented on the BPL piece in the newsletter. ZL1BNB said
that we would oppose if an undesirable proposal comes out..
5.
Christmas Dinner. This will be
held in early December. ZL2JEL to approach the RSA.
6.
John ZL2JEL raised the subject of
an HF antenna installation at the clubrooms. There was
some discussion, with ZL2MA reminding the meeting of the
donated pole from Rod ZL2ACE and also of the possibility
of us using a power pole. It was thought preferable to
use an unguyed pole holding a beam or inverted V. Tony ZL2ALO
said that last time the club tried to resurrect an HF
station there was not much interest. ZL1BNB raised the
issue of resource consent too. In response to a question
from Barry ZL2RR as to how many resource consents we
would need, Mike thought we would need only one.
7.
Mike ZL1BNB reported Waikato District Council was
limiting the number of antennas on any one site to three
with a height limitation of 9.5 metres (30 feet).
There being no further business, the meeting was closed at
2007.
