IN:E Mail note offering members first right of refusal to purchase up to 12 CD Tait 198 Base sets from the Wanganui City Council to our President.
ZL2RR also tabled a copy of the Minister's letter re 'free' Amateur Radio licences

Matters Arising from Correspondence:
Peter ZL2TDI pointed out a few possible pitfalls beside the cost purchasing of crystals converting these sets to two metre operation based on his experience of having done so.
Secretary to thank the Council for its consideration, but decline the offer as no member interest was expressed.

National System Project Report:ZL1BNB said every endeavour being made to change the frequencies of a section of the Nat System over the up-coming ANZAC week-end.
ZL2JEL informed that the Landguard Road building which will house our National System Repeater had been repaired and water-proofed

Junk Sale:
Graham ZL2AHR and Val ZL2FO took a list of volunteers to assist with this annual event. Graham said the new venue looked promising and car parking in the grounds was permitted.
A notice re the new Sale Venue is to be posted near-by the site/hall of last years venue.

General Business:
1. VHF Convention: Mike ZL1BNB gave a brief account of his attendance at this Easter event .

2. Moved ZL1BNB, Seconded ZL2RR that the Society purchase a copy of the ARRL's publication 'Experimental Methods in RF Design' and present to the Wanganui Library.  Motion Carried.

3. ZL1BNB volunteered to once again contact the local Colleges re the Radio Science Foundation.

4. ZL1BNB had received a query regarding Mountain Radio from the Police.  Police member Darcy Forrester trying to get the SAR back-on track. Mike told him that we (AREC) want to be involved. Problem at this time is getting a promised meeting arranged.
