General Business:
1.
John ZL2JEL met with Max
Benseman at the CD HQ in Wanganui. They still want us there and offered
their rooms to us for our meetings. John gave CD his, Jason ZL2FT, and Jeff ZL2THO'
s contact details.
2.
The CD rooms are being altered, so our
cables will need altering too. ZL1BNB Mike
moved and Rod ZL2ACE
seconded that we
reinstate our gear at the CD HQ.
3.
Rod ZL2ACE
commented on the recent storm in the Northern Cook
Islands. Ham radio and Cell Phones were all they were
left with.
4.
Bob ZL2AAQ
questioned the eight year span of Amateur Radio
referred to in the “Become a Member” Chronicle
supplement. This was a typo, and should have read “eighty
years”.
5.
Graham ZL2AHR informed the
meeting that the St Pauls Hall is to be demolished at the end of April.
Some brainstorming ensued and a couple of likely alternative halls will be
investigated by ZL2JEL
. ZL2ACE
moved that the committee have the power to act on
this matter. ZL2THO
seconded.
6.
ZL2AAQ
Bob asked for any comments from members on the various
nominees for council and president of NZART. Some helpful
suggestions and background were given by some members.
7.
ZL2AHR Graham
informed members that his XYL Val ZL2FO was
shifting her interest
to model railways from Amateur
Radio!!!
Meeting
closed 2020 followed by cup of
tea.
