Accounts:
AREC report: Jason ZL2FT reported on a search on the weekend of the 17th
and 18th of September for a missing hunter at the back of the Waitotora
Valley. Conditions were cold, wet and muddy as Jason and Bryan
Purdie met to help with comms at Larsen's property on the Sunday
morning. By Monday more teams were brought in with thermal imaging
equipment and an Iriquoi helicopter. Body found Tuesday at
1230.
Repeater reports:
690: Leo ZL2BGE read
out his letter re the use of the repeater for the Daybreaker
Rally. He then explained further the protocols involved.
John ZL2JEL apologized for any part he had
in allowing use of the repeater without consulting the
trustees.

National System Project Report: Mike ZL1BNB reported that the two attenuators were
made. He would like a key to the repeater room. ZL2KR is wiring the controller board
into the rack. An e-mail has been sent for up-dated software to replace the buggy version we
have.
General Business:
1. ZL2BGE continued with an explanation on the use of
690 and of his concerns over the apparent disregard for correct use
of callsigns and generally poor operating practice in the Daybreaker
Rally. Some general
discussion followed on this point. ZL1BNB
suggested that the Secretary write to Stephan Cooper expressing the club's
concerns.
2. Barry ZL2RR
reported that he has paid our insurance premium of $408.40. He
explained the policy excesses which are $500, or for burgulary / theft
$1000, or malicious damage $700. There appears little point in
the club having an insurance policy with these excesses.
Considerable discussion followed Barry's
report, with Auditor Leo ZL2BGE having spoken with Trevor Dickason at State who suggested
we consult a broker. ZL2ACE suggested we investigate NZART branch
insurance, however, ZL1BNB said this had been
investigated before but no group scheme was offered by any of the
companies. ZL1BNB asked Barry if we had had any claims in the
last ten years. Barry replied that we
hadn't. ZL2AHR suggested we run our own account and forget
about insurance.
3. ZL1BNB reported that the Waikato District Council has
written to
NZART regarding getting some suitable designs! Mike advised NZART
not to get into any discussion re "standard" antennas.
4. ZL2AHR reported that nine
Br48 members were seen at the Br20 Junk Sale. Many new faces were
seen there too. The crowd held up till the end. (ZL2AHR bought his
own junk!!!)
Meeting closed at 2017 followed by
AGM.
